Horse's Head furnishing fabric, Lucienne Day, 1939

This screen-printed linen, inspired by a Chinese sculpture in the Victoria and Albert Museum, was one of the pieces in Lucienne’s RCA Diploma Show. It has a simple but effective tile-like pattern repeat: the horses' heads switch direction row by row, alternating with the horses' bridles.
