Onetree chair, 2001

Back in 1934, Robin had been offered a job at the High Wycombe furniture company Ercol, but had turned it down to study at the Royal College of Art. By a strange twist of fate, one of his last designs was a chair made by Ercol as part of a project called Onetree, where designers were invited to create objects using timber from a single oak tree.
